The 2nd Asia ADR Summit 2025, held from August 21 to 25, marked a significant milestone in the evolution of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) across the region. The summit brought together legal professionals, ADR experts, and thought leaders to exchange ideas and explore advancements in dispute resolution mechanisms.
Among the distinguished attendees was K.A.M. Majedur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC). His participation underscores Bangladesh’s commitment to enhancing its ADR framework and integrating global best practices.
During the summit, discussions centered on the integration of technology in ADR processes, the promotion of mediation and arbitration as effective alternatives to litigation, and the establishment of regional cooperation to address cross-border disputes. Experts highlighted the importance of adapting ADR mechanisms to the unique cultural and legal contexts of Asian countries.
Mr. Rahman’s involvement in the summit aligns with BIAC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ADR practices in Bangladesh. Under his leadership, BIAC has been instrumental in organizing training programs, workshops, and seminars aimed at building capacity in mediation and arbitration. These initiatives are designed to reduce the burden on the judicial system and promote timely and cost-effective dispute resolution.
The Asia ADR Summit 2025 served as a platform for fostering collaboration among Asian nations to advance ADR practices, ensuring that they are accessible, efficient, and aligned with international standards. As Bangladesh continues to enhance its ADR infrastructure, events like the Asia ADR Summit play a crucial role in shaping the future of dispute resolution in the region.
