The Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) and Lawback (Changsha) Network Technology Co., Ltd., China, have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of arbitration, mediation, and digital dispute resolution.
The MoU renewal reflects both institutions’ continued commitment to promoting the use of technology in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), enhancing cross-border legal collaboration, and sharing knowledge and best practices.
The agreement was signed on behalf of BIAC by Mr. Mohammad Anisul Haque Emran, Senior Counsel, on behalf of Mr. K.A.M.
Majedur Rahman, CEO of BIAC. Representing Lawback was Ms. Jiangyan, Legal Representative of Lawback China. The signing took place on 18 September 2025, reaffirming a decade of mutual cooperation since the initial partnership began.
Under the renewed agreement, BIAC and Lawback will collaborate on the development and promotion of digital ADR platforms, including online arbitration and mediation tools, training programs, and capacity-building initiatives. The aim is to make dispute resolution more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly—particularly in cross-border commercial matters between Bangladesh and China.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Emran stated, “This renewal marks BIAC’s ongoing commitment to international partnerships that support innovation and digital transformation in the ADR space. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Lawback to promote effective, technology-driven dispute resolution mechanisms.”
The renewed MoU is expected to benefit businesses, legal professionals, and stakeholders in both countries, further advancing the vision of a more efficient, transparent, and digital-friendly dispute resolution environment in Asia.
