At the 2nd Asia ADR Summit 2025 held from August 21 to 24 at Guangxi University, Nanning, China, the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) took significant steps to strengthen its regional and international collaborations in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

During the summit, BIAC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR), a leading regional ADR institution. This partnership aims to promote the development and utilization of ADR mechanisms across Asia through joint initiatives, including research, training programs, and the organization of seminars and conferences. The MoU reflects a shared commitment to enhancing the accessibility and effectiveness of ADR in the region.

In addition to the new collaboration with AIADR, BIAC renewed its existing MoU with the Maldives International Arbitration Centre (MIAC). This renewed agreement underscores the ongoing commitment between the two institutions to advance ADR practices through mutual cooperation. The partnership focuses on exchanging information, organizing joint training sessions, and promoting the use of ADR as a preferred method for resolving commercial disputes.

The Asia ADR Summit 2025, themed “East Meets Algorithm: The Future of ADR in Asia’s Digital Wave,” provided a platform for ADR professionals to discuss the integration of technology in dispute resolution processes. BIAC’s active participation and the signing of these agreements highlight its dedication to adopting innovative approaches and fostering international partnerships to enhance the ADR landscape in Bangladesh and beyond.
