The symposium has become a key forum for advancing alternative dispute resolution across South Asia and beyond since its inception in 2022.

Mr. Mohammad Anisul Haque Emran, Senior Counsel at the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC), represented BIAC at the event, joining distinguished delegates from leading arbitration centers across the region. Participating institutions included the Asian International Arbitration Centre, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Maldives International Arbitration Centre, Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration, Musaliha International Center for Arbitration & Dispute Resolution (MICADR), Nepal Council of Arbitration (NEPCA), Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), and the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC).

The symposium provided a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration aimed at strengthening the ADR landscape regionally. Topics ranged from innovations in mediation and arbitration to cross-border dispute resolution challenges.

The event culminated in a panel discussion titled “Arbitration as an Effective ADR Mechanism from a Client’s Perspective,” featuring expert panelists Katie Chung, Dawn Yamane Hewett, FCIArb, and Amrit Rajapakse. The session was moderated by Shehara Varia and highlighted client-centric approaches in arbitration practice.
